Use Of Reconstructions

Reconstructions are often used in documentaries. They are acted out scenes to enable the audience to understand what is going on in the documentary. They usually provide factual information and provide the audience with a sense of realism as if the actual event was occuring live. The camera work differs to the camera work used for the actual documentaries, for example in reconstructions they always include:
  • Distortion
  • Lighting effects
  • Changes in camera levels
  • Colour enhancement
  • Blurring

THIS IS APPARENT IN SHOWS LIKE CRIMEWATCH ON BBC1
